Hikuwai Bridge Repair - SH35
Project Overview
There are 4 bridges that cross the Hikuwai River on SH35. During Cyclone Gabrielle, Bridge #1 collapsed due to the force of slash build-up on the piles in the river. Parata was engaged to carry out the enabling works as Stage 1 of the bridge rebuild, preparing the site and establishing the foundations for full reconstruction. This critical infrastructure project restored a key crossing point for East Coast communities reliant on SH35 for access and connectivity.
